    Le Petit Parisien reveals the affair of Fort Crampel, in Oubangui-Chari, following the arrest of a young colonial official on leave in France, Georges Toqué; he is accused of having allowed Pakpa, a former guide, to be executed by inserting a cartridge of dynamite into his anus by a post chief, Fernand Gaud. Revelations about the abuses committed by the colonials followed one another over the following days in the press. An inspection mission led by Savorgnan de Brazza was sent to the site in April 1905 to investigate; Brazza died on his way home in September 1905 and his damning report was never published. Agreement between France and Germany on the convening of an international conference on Morocco.
